['brɪtɪʃ'eərəʊspeɪs 'pʌblɪk 'lɪmɪtɪd 'kʌmpənɪ], Abkürzung BAe ['biː'eə], Unternehmen der Luft- und Raumfahrtindustrie, Sitz: Farnborough; gegründet 1977 durch Verstaatlichung und Fusion der British Aircraft Corporation mit anderen Unternehmen. Das 1985 reprivatisierte Unternehmen ist am Bau des Jagdflugzeugs Eurofighter 2000 sowie des Mehrzweckkampfflugzeugs MRCA Tornado und an den Versionen des Airbus beteiligt; außerdem stellt es den Senkrechtstarter Harrier, den Kampfflugzeugtrainer Hawk, das Experimentalflugzeug EAP, Lenkwaffensysteme (Rapier), die Zivilflugzeuge BAe 125, BAe 146, Jetstream 31 sowie Kommunikationssatelliten her; bis 1979 baute es auch das Überschallverkehrsflugzeug Concorde. 1999 erfolgte die Fusion mit Marconi Electronic Systems plc zur BAe Systems PLC.
